So many topics today...
The Intense Residential Occupancy Committee will have their 2nd meeting 6pm-8pm, this Thursday, March 29th at the Friends Room in the Central Library. On the committee are Mayor Steve Rosansky, Planning Commissioner Michael Toerge, Craig Bately, Bob Rush, Jim Miller, Louise Funderberg, and Jeffrey Myers. As I understand it, the first meeting was a bit tense with the meeting being cut short due to another commitment by Mayor Rosansky. This second meeting will be...interesting, considering the City Council, City Staff, and Mayor Rosansky completely discounting and ignoring the Committee's recommendations over a 1000 foot buffer between Sober Living Homes. Me thinks this committee may have been formed to humor the residents, because the real teeth in this fight against this proliferation is in the City's lobbying efforts with the State legislators, and if the City is only willing to use knives in this gun fight, then it'll be a quick death. I'm curious to see what the next recommendation will be to come out of this group and how fast the City staff will shoot it down, and then how long before this Committee becomes glaringly inconsequential.
